BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Media are invited to attend the mgm casino's Global Fair today, which happens from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the mgm casino Center for the Arts on the North Campus.

The Global Fair is part of a broad range of events celebrating the inauguration of Satish K. Tripathi as mgm casino's 15th president and emphasizing the many ways in which mgm casino faculty, students and staff engage the Western New York community and the world beyond.

From noon to 1:30, Tripathi and other members of the mgm casino administration and fair attendees will be entertained by members of the Latin American Student Association who will dance and play music; members of the Buffalo Kung Fu Temple who will perform a traditional Lion Dance; the Korean Folk Arts Club, which will perform a percussion piece; and Indian classical dancers.

Great visuals!

Performances will alternate with brief lectures by faculty and students about a broad range of international topics from global warming and domestic violence to child survival in the 21st century and preserving endangered African languages.

Free foods from around the world, courtesy of mgm casino's international student groups and mgm casino's Three Pillars Catering, will be available, including banana fritters from Malaysia, kaya toast from Singapore, Vietnamese iced coffee and Jakarta fruit cake.

The fair is being sponsored by the mgm casino Student Association and numerous mgm casino groups of international students from Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and many other countries.

For press arrangements, please contact Ellen Goldbaum in the mgm casino Office of University Communications at 645-4605.
